Down on the allotment today, after a disgraceful period of neglect. Too, too awful to show you the whole plot, with its inedibly-overgrown beans and pumpkin-sized courgettes, but the hollyhocks, last seen looking rather poorly, seem to have made an effort in my absence, and to be entertaining guests.
But the pink hollyhock should be a luscious deep, dark, black-wine-red, or so the label says.
Honestly, you can't turn your back for a moment.....

ReplyDeleteI know I'm not the only Welsh gardener to suffer from the rain this year, but pumpkin sized!!! In Newcastle!!!!
Ok, ok, I'll go down with the camera later. Maybe 'pumpkin-sized' was stretching it a bit, but I'll stick with 'inedible'....
