Today we learned to:
Join in with the class
Wait to be invited (in, out, to follow Fran down the garden)
To walk on a relaxed lead (better if Fran was at one end, rather than me!)
Make good eye contact
To sit, even when the neighbours' dogs were barking madly at us
To bring our food bowl to show we'd licked it nice and clean
To run about in the fields, to play with a ball, to come back when called
But also to learn new exciting things (on the 3rd attempt only!) and look very pleased with ourselves
And then we had a little lie down. Because we deserved it.

ReplyDeleteI can see Flossie being an agility dog as well as a PAT dog - you are going to be busy :-)
(But maybe you'd just rather have a really nice obedient companion to lie on your feet and keep them warm.)

ReplyDeleteJust found your blog a couple days ago, really enjoying it. I have two small dogs (miniature pinscher/doxie) and two cats (also feed feral cats/strays).

ReplyDeleteFabulous photos - and I love the clip of her climbing on the hay bale. One of Stuart's friends has dogs which she trains for agility trials - I think she and her husband travel all over to take part in competitions (and this year, the little surprise addition to their family, a beautiful baby girl, will be going too!!)

ReplyDeleteOur school walks weren't that much fun . Two by two to the river and back , gloves and hat firmly in place . Mind you , straw didn't come in lovely rolls either then .
I think i could use a little time with Fran my own self.

Oh I'm loving following Florence's progress! All those dogs sitting look just wonderful. She really was pleased with herself on the hay bale wasn't she? And the last picture of her sleeping is great! I bet you can't wait to get her home!

oh, Rachel! I just love the pictures of the dogs sitting so sweetly waiting for their specific treat. Reminds me of when my friends with multiple dogs would visit and, along with my two, they would sit while we "named the treat" so they knew whose it was! You have a lot of fun ahead.
