To the hairdresser today.
"Not too short." I said. "I don't want to look like Richard III."
Previous experience prompted me to say this.
"No, no." she clucked reassuringly. She lied.
Snip, snap.
Cardinal Wolsey. I have the chins. Now all I need is the hat.

Do we get to see photographic proof?
ReplyDeleteThat was so funny! (Not for you, maybe, if it's true ...) I went to the hairdresser as well today. There was something a bit not quite right and I had to tell her about it, but why do I have to pluck up so much courage when I'M PAYING HER? I don't get it!
ReplyDeleteAll over the world, countless women are waiting for their too-short cuts to grow in again. Me included. You have my sympathy.
ReplyDeleteA picture, please!!!
ReplyDeleteYou most certainly will not. I'm in the wardrobe, sobbing.....
ReplyDeleteNot as long-lasting as the chap who asked for a "Tony Curtis" and was shaved, bald as an egg.He went ballistic, howling, didn't the barber know who TC was?
ReplyDeleteThe barber said:"Of course I know Tony Curtis! Didn't I see 'The King and I' 10 times?"
Does it help if I say it will grow out?
ReplyDeleteNope, I didn't think so.
But do you have Cardinal Wolsey's fur stole as well? I think we should be told.
ReplyDeleteVery funny - hairdressers always seem to feel compelled to give me bangs unless I threaten them. Come out of the wardrobe though - it grows!
ReplyDeleteHairdressers seem completely unable just to do a 'little trim' - I think they need to somehow justify their chops (I meant jobs, but I think 'chops' is better!)
ReplyDeleteKeep tugging at it!
It's not as if they can even claim to be getting rid of your split ends because no one has those anymore. There even used to be shampoos that mended split ends.
ReplyDeleteI think it could be time to change your hairdresser!!!
ReplyDeleteYou could always wear a paper bag over your head until it grows - but that might scare the pets!!
ReplyDeleteHaving the sort of hair that springs up and curls at the ends, I can easily lose two inches once my hair has dried, so I know EXACTLY how you feel - been there, had that done to me!
ReplyDeleteThat was very funny!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter-in-law cuts my hair..... how brave am I?
By way of consolation, methinks it does it good to have the weight cut off sometimes. When I had my hair long, it seemed thinner and flatter on top, maybe because more of it came out with tangles?
