Rules of the house

Flossie writes:

We have a rule in this house that goes something like this:

Large black dogs do NOT go on the furniture.

Who said anything about not going on a Lovely Son and then considerately shuffling one's large black bottom along a bit so that he isn't completely squashed? Makes complete sense to me!

  2. May I just say how spooked I am to keep seeing my fireplace in your living room. If I arranged my Lovely Son in an armchair nearby we could be twinned. I don't have a Flossie though.

  4. Large black dogs are learning quickly, aren't they?

  5. Now Flossie, you will need to break as many rules as possible while the LS is there. Get Rachel trained in other words.

  9. Dogs are always lap dogs, no matter what their size and chairs are just the right shape to accommodate a dog - especially a damp one!

  12. Dear Flossie - I think you and lovely Son ought to go and buy a washable throw for Rachel to put over the chair, for when you are disobeying the House Rules!!

  13. House rules? Pah!

Rachel, you don't stand a chance while the LS is there. Your picture is the loveliest - could hug them both.

  14. Awww, but they look so cosy together! There's nothing better than a big armchair and a lovely dog - how can you argue with that?

  15. Just been catching up on your posts. So glad that Flossie is settling in. We had rules like your when we got our dog, they lasted about two months! All the furniture was covered with washable throws, so you can see who was in charge here.

  17. I'd bet that, some years ago, you had some rule about "no sons' feet propped on the coffee table" too, didn't you? See how these things work out?
