It casts a pretty shadow, but seems to have been lurking unseen beneath the rosemary until this year, when in its spindly way, it put on some growth. I have no idea where it came from, or what it is. Any ideas?
By the time you've watched it for a whole year, to see whether it flowers or fruits in its own season, than you may get a clue! I had a shrub which took three years of growth before I could identify it - and now, at this moment, I can't remember it name!
Viburnum? Every time Susan (29 Black Street) asks about a plant, I guess viburnum and she agrees. I didn't think of it with my one twiggy stem. Oh dear, I'm becoming prematurely senile!

Looks like a Korean Spice to me. If it blooms next spring you will become enchanted by the loveliest fragrance.

My vote is on viburnum. I've got one in my garden, leaves look just the same.
