Transmogrification

The snow fell, and so did an old tree, overcome by time, weight, and shallow roots.




And we could see that it was turning into something else....

    How beautiful !
    When some really old trees were cut down in town for a road-widening scheme , some locals asked the workmen for a slice of the trunk . And , miraculously , the workmen obliged .Lovely souvenirs .

    An elephant loose in the woods is certainly going to cause a stir when its transmogrification (great word!!) is complete.

    That's clever, having eyes to see that.

    Florence is still a proper dog shape, not fat like so many labs, including Benno. But then Benno is 11 now, not a mere sprig like Flo.

    What a shame, but it's not so bad when they fall of natural causes. I hate to see them being felled in town just because they were planted in the wrong place to start with.

    I`m glad I`m not the only one to see faces in trees.....Your photos made me think of the Ents in Lord of the Rings.

    Sad to see a fine old tree downed by the winter winds.
