Plastic flowers for Monday

No, they're not really plastic.

They just look it. Perhaps it's a new development.

The 'Free With Daz' trend.

Tight apricot buds were ok; garish orangey-pink less so.

There's been a suggestion that  flowers in a delicate cat-nose pink would be a delightful alternative. I'm inclined to agree.

The flowers from a friend are better, despite the vase. Scooter hasn't spotted the tulips yet.

And there are  the daffodils, beaming away cheerfully in their corner, in the chipped Danish jug with the glued-on handle.

There's nothing like taking pictures of your (my) flowers to reveal a serious lack of presentation skills, and a pressing need for some new vases.

I wonder if I need to learn flower arrangement. I have the pinny.

Thanks, Jane, for the reminder that it's Flower Monday.

Your cat has a terrific stare!

Lovely to see all these colourful blooms to cheer up the grey drizzley morning. Thinking of you and your wish for a house sale, really hope it works out soon.xx

Cat-nose-pink - what a wonderful colour. Why don't paint charts read like that?
We've had to buy some daffs for St.David's Day because ours aaren't out yet. For those of you outisde Wales, it is the tradition to wear a daffodil on March 1st. Those in junior shools often dress in Welsh costume for the day, and I remember my brother, even at 16, wearing a leek on his lapel (it's a boy thing).

Garish pinky orange would work for me.
Flowers . . . color . . . I'll take it.

I had no idea it was flower Monday...is it weekly/monthly?
I hate the my/your/one's debate. One knows which is correct, but you don't want to sound too sniffy, do I?...

You're back!! With cats and flowers. and just a glimpse of the Flossiness.

When I saw your post title on my blog roll I thought , well she's gone and done it this time...

But not, all are as charming and sweetly presented as always.

Thanks for sharing:)

Tulips - already! I am so jealous. I'm hoping for some next week. Cat nose pink would be nicer, but these actually look great with the cat's fur, so enjoy! They are roses, after all.

Lottie looks so pretty with the flowers. I haven't seen any flowers around here yet, so these photos are special to me.
I'm nostalgic, so I also love the pinny and the old black phone.

I'd forgotten about those Daz roses. My parents had a shop and we had LOADS left over. All red. All with that unmistakable smell of plastic.

Hate to admit that I quite like the coral roses - especially when next to Lottie. Now if they were gladilii of the same colour that would be a different matter.

I'm old enough to remember plastic flowers with Daz too. Sigh.

But did they smell nice ? I'm only asking because Lottie doesn't seem too impressed by that either .

The cat does not look impressed with the flowers!

Such variety while I am here with just one small vase of poppies. I think I'm a little jealous. Enjoy.

Me too, I remember the Daz roses! I love having flowers in the house - and I don't have to worry about feline sabotage!

I think the roses are fine. Also the vase. Do I have no taste?

Glad to see all the colour in your blog. (I'm making myself feel more positive too. So there.)

That cat should be an editor. Those roses look quite lickable.

All flowers are pretty no matter what the color. Thanks for brightening my day!

I'm with you - yes to the tulips, no to the roses. I would have to admit that elder son once turned up with some plastic flowers as a housewarming present. What was he thinking? Would like to be able to tell you he was making an ironic post modern statement but I think he was actually as surprised as we were.
Sorry you have been feeling dismal. Hope things are on the up.
