Maybe....

Are those fingers still tightly crossed? I hope so.

My vendor has made what she thinks will be an acceptable offer on a property, and is awaiting a response. Meantime she has instructed her solicitor to proceed with the sale of her house to me.

My buyer is proposing completion dates, which helps to concentrate everyone's minds wonderfully; I know he will wait if he has to, but perhaps I won't tell that to the chain above us.

I feel like Scooter on the staircase; part of me is sitting tight, while another part is proceeding with caution.

Let's hope we get all the way there this time.

  3. Oh dear, it's getting very fraught. Everything still tightly crossed here; so much that I can hardly breathe so I hope it is all concluded soon.

  13. Hello Rachel

It must be agonizing to have your whole life on hold: waiting. Worst of all, when the solicitors get started everything continues to move so slowly and I have never really understood why.

When we sold our last house, here in the north, our buyer viewed it in early September. Then, the sale was completed and the money transferred so that we moved-out on 6th October: this wasn't exceptional or unusual.

Anyway, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.

  14. I realise that this is not an encouraging comment, but it is a marvel that any long chain EVER completes. There must be a better way!
    Good luck --
