Tootling

Tosca isn't very nimble since her other leg 'went' recently, so our walks are slow and easy - more of an amble really. Flossie comes too, but once off the lead, can race ahead and generally exercise herself; she has a longer, more energetic walk later.

Today there was light rain as we set off for our morning amble. No one was about. I had my camera, but not my specs, so half my pictures were taken on the wrong setting and are blurred, and I missed the recurring rainbows, but I'm including them so that you can see what's just a few hundred yards away from my house.

Flossie hasn't shown much interest in horses, but this one came over at such a smart trot that she felt it only polite to say good morning.

Cautiously.

The little brook that I can hear at night  is alongside as we stroll damply home. Living here, I will never have straight hair again.

Time for breakfast. The sun will be out later.

  5. How does it feel to be a country girl? I envy you the hills and running water. You'd think I'd have plenty of water living on the Broads, but you actually have to be ON them to appreciate them, and you need hills to make the water run anywhere. It all looks lovely, nice to see you settling in. xx

  15. I love the photo of Flossie and the horse!! Who needs fancy scientific instruments to measure moisture/humidity - just ask a woman how much her hair has curled!!

  17. I gave up on straight hair years ago, when we moved out here.

Your new locality looks so beautiful and full of character. The pony, by its greyness and its build, looks like a a young one and will be as inquisitive as Flossie is! A new friendship in the making ?

  20. You mean you haven't had pouring rain for the past fortnight? Ah, then, you didn't move to Edinburgh. Wise.

    Looks beautiful.
