Rain, sun, rain, rain, sun, showers, sun, rain..... but rainbows too.
Afternoon tea at Porlock Weir for
Lizzie's birthday today; much laughter, too much cake, and some very silly photographs that I wouldn't dare show you without permission, of five middle-aged women having a very jolly afternoon.
Up the renowned
Porlock Hill before going home; a 1 in 4 gradient and alarmingly tight bends - what larks!
Happy birthday, Lizzie. May you always have rainbows in your life.
we don't need photos...we have our imaginations and that is jolly bad enough. LOL
ReplyDeleteIt all looks wonderful but manicured to my eyes. So different to here. I might add that our street is even steeper - steepest in the world :) although I think there are rather a lot of scarier ones with hairpin corners around Dunedin. My Uncle used to scare the tourists (he was a backpacker bus driver) by taking them down Delmany St in his van if they were game.

Hear! Hear!
ReplyDeleteLaughter is a well know calorie burner - true or false? Who cares? Please pass on Birthday Wishes to Lizzie!
ReplyDeleteThe weather is irrelevant when you're having a good time.
ReplyDeleteWe have been having the same weather but I haven't seen any rainbows.
ReplyDeleteAnna
Similar weather here too. Best thing to do is laugh I suppose! Yet again you're tempting me back to Porlock. I must move it up the list of Places to Visit next time we're in Somerset.
ReplyDeleteYes please, we want photos of women behaving badly!! Stunning scenery - and I love rainbows. It keeps raining here - Malcolm is seriously depressed by the weather (four letter words were uttered when it started to rain yet again this morning). He just wants to get on and finish the remodelling of the front garden!!
ReplyDeleteI didn't remember that Porlock was in Somerset. But then Coleridge was staying in Nether Stowey at the time, I recollect. Ah, my A level English classes with Miss Millar...
ReplyDeleteHusband and I only had two weeks to tour the U.K. in September a few years back and the weather was as you've described. Your photos bought back lovely memories of that time, although it was too rushed!
ReplyDeleteOh, go on, show us the pictures, we won't tell.
ReplyDelete"A Jolly Afternoon" sounds quite delightful :0)
ReplyDeleteLovely rainbow photos
Gorgeous views - your pictures are so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYou live in a glorious place .. so many things to do and see.. it must be difficult to decide what to do each day when you get up.. it sounds and looks just lovely!!!
