Joiner in the house

Arrived, built exactly the cupboard I wanted, and went away.

The inspector arrived (see inspectorial tail disappearing inside door).

Was thorough.

Approved.

Next: painter in the house.

Off to choose colours now. Why do I get all the hard jobs?

  3. I agree with Millie - it certainly passes inspection. What a great improvement. Will you paint it grey, I wonder? Mind you, fuchsia's a lovely colour in a bedroom.

  4. I am pleased to see that Millie approves of the new installation. Who inspects Paintworks?

The cupboard looks very good, perhaps I should speak to my local joiner?

  7. Now that's what I call a decent cupboard. I agree with the inspector there.

  10. I`m sure the Inspector approved. A lovely cupboard to hide in and find a dark corner to sleep in.

  13. And I see that the cupboard is intended for eiderdowns: no better purpose.

  14. A very splendid cupboard , I can quite see why Millie approved !
If Mise is right and it's intended for eiderdowns then it will shortly be empty .... I believe we're all about to have what Michael Fish would probably have called "a cold snap" this weekend .

  15. How on earth did it get built so fast? Had he already visited and taken measurements? If so, somehow I missed that information. Closets are the one big problem with older homes. Looks good.

  16. Arthur R - no, it won't be grey, but a shade to match the curtains. Fuchsia - you're being naughty, I think.... Amy, yes he did. And did most of the work in his workshop before tweaking and assembling it all here.

  17. Lovely cupboard, excellent joiner, lucky you.

  18. Your joiner did a good job with the ceiling angle! It fits right in there.
Will you paint it to match the little bureau?

  19. Perfect! When you said the inspector arrived, I thought you were serious for a moment. So now I know the cupboard isn't perfect, it's purrfect. So much better.
