Hmmm...I don't really see what the problem is here. The person who donated (let's not say "dumped", shall we?) the fridge made sure it would not be in front of the bench so as not to block the view. And I'll bet, if one of villagers would stop complaining for a moment to see what is inside, they would find the fridge full of nice cold beers.
You are right - that is so funny. Purely because it is such a weedy view-blocker. It takes more effort to photograph it that it would to bung it in a skip!

Hmm...if you are seated (conventionally) on the bench, the view is "spoiled" by the lamp post.
