Oh dear, Rachel! I don't know if I should laugh or just commiserate! Maybe you should ask Flossie and Tosca (or where they with you?) A warm hello from the Pacific nW coastline (nasty weather here...yet again) Blessings,
They may have eaten the whole bird, poor thing. Today I found a young thrush, recently killed by a crow (according to my neighbour). I left it in the garden with Gordon, my new stray, and returned to find not even a feather. I've never known that to happen before, but it may be what's happened chez toi too.
So sorry about the poor little body wherever it is,but the expressions on the cats' faces - too funny! Your photos are the best! I note Miss Catkin's position near the bread box. Of course. Mary
oh no! One of them will go back to the hiding place soon. Mine left a baby snake on the front porch and stood there, I swear, with a smile on her face!

Oh dear, I'm going to be very pathetic and say: well, at least you now have a man to dispose of the corpse for you. No, no, I didn't say that... I'm sure you're made of sterner stuff. But in our household, the chap gets the really nasty jobs like that, which I justify because I do most other things.
Oh Isabelle, how could you! I too am made of sterner stuff - years of practice with so many fierce hunters in the household! Corpses, innards, regurgitations of every description, no problem to clear up. Live mice too - although I really didn't like catching live frogs, and am very glad not to have a pond any more.
Alas, WV is going back on - I know it's hateful, but so are the robot spammers. Please please don't let WV stop you from leaving your oh-so-welcomed comments!
How sad, which one do you suspect most - Lottie? I hope you find the corpse soon.

Blessings,
Lowered ears are always a giveaway but....yikes, I hope you find it soon before the warm weather really heats things up! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteThe furry, little devils. I think you can tell the guilty party by the slant of her ears.

ReplyDeleteI have to say I don't think any of those suspects looks innocent. Furtive, yes, definitely. And where is Hamish? A murder mystery.
ReplyDeleteI await the arrival of the gentleman from the local press and his gushing prose.

Maybe there is no corpse ? Perhaps they're just collecting feathers to decorate a hat for you?
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand ....

ReplyDeleteDon't ever play poker with them.

Those darn feathers spoiled the whole secret!
ReplyDeleteI'm seeing this three days later. Either you've found the corpse or you're living with a heck of an aroma by now!
