Today I could

Show you the several squashed frogs in the road. The less-bucolic reality of living beside a brook is beginning to dawn on me.

Show you my newly cut-and-coloured hair, thanks to a sudden cancellation at my hairdresser, so that I no longer have 2" grey roots showing through the film of building dust.

Show you the wooden framework and all the new drains in the bathroom ready for tomorrow's plastering marathon.

Show you the gleaming copper pipes downstairs that will allow me to have a washing machine, a sink and a dishwasher in my narrow utility-to-be.

Show you the deep new windowsill, that will have a little cupboard beneath it disguising the monstrous affront of a gas meter plonked directly in the middle of the window alcove.

Show you my lovely floor tiles for the bathroom.

Show you the - oh heck, I can't show you any of it.

Because I have lost my camera somewhere in all the chaos and disorder.

I am lost too as a result.

I hope you find it and soon, I want to see all those enticing things.

We have said a prayer to St. Anthony on your behalf.

Hahaha both of you! I doubt if you're waiting on tenterhooks to see a squashed frog. Poor little things. Susan, my mother would have us all saying prayers to St Anthony whenever she lost anything..... That really takes me back!

Can you remember the last photo you took? My camera (or lens cap) is usually to be found in the vicinity of the last shot.

Malcolm says - it's not lost, just mislaid!! Hope you find it soon - can you give Flossie a quick training course in finding lost (I mean mislaid) objects!

Isn't it amazing how quickly we've all become wedded to our cameras .... though you are temporarily estranged , of course . Hope you find it soon .
I can do without flat frogs .... but gleaming pipes and a beautiful haircut !! I'm jealous ( again) .

'Don't seek and ye shall find' as we say, all too frequently, in this house!
