Hmm...if you are seated (conventionally) on the bench, the view is "spoiled" by the lamp post.

They must be quite tall there ... or the hedges grow fast . View of what ?
Hmmm...I don't really see what the problem is here. The person who donated (let's not say "dumped", shall we?) the fridge made sure it would not be in front of the bench so as not to block the view. And I'll bet, if one of villagers would stop complaining for a moment to see what is inside, they would find the fridge full of nice cold beers.
Oh, wait. Brits don't drink cold beer.
Never mind. I see the problem now.
The poor fridge looks in high dudgeon from being dumped.

The dais the bench is on just needs a bit more hardcore under it, then one would be able to see over the hedge. Or a periscope maybe?
Nice local press. My personal favourite, from the (Powys) County Times was 'Wing mirror damaged.'

You are right - that is so funny. Purely because it is such a weedy view-blocker. It takes more effort to photograph it that it would to bung it in a skip!
