Mmmmm, wake up and smell the....

....damp but newly-cleaned carpets.

Then look at the gleaming windows.

And the new cushions on the armchairs.

The tidy baking cupboard.

And the brushed loveliness of Lottie.

As well as the tidiness of the shorn dog.

And Zephirine Drouhin doing her lovely best.

The For Sale board goes up tomorrow. Maybe we'll have visitors.

Oh, you'll absolutely, definitely have visitors. First of all everybody on the street will want to come and have a look at what you have been up to for a bout a year or so.. all the fixing, doing and cleaning.. they'll want to see inside for sure.... but, then.... Mr. Trendy Specs... will he be bringing folks by? I do hope so....I kind of like the sound of him......

It look lovely..... won't take long to sell...better get busy searching out the new abode....

Anyone who looks in your baking cupboard will probably be so intimidated by your organisation that they'll sign up immediately and buy. How do you DO that?

Potential buyers won't believe their luck ! Clean , fresh , attractive and ready to move into !!
In Holland , buy or rent , the previous inhabitants will have taken not just the light bulbs , but the light fittings and door handles as well , never mind carpets and curtains and laminate floors .
Slightly disconcerting for the uninitiated .

Ye Gods woman! Is no one/no corner safe? What next?

Even if you moved next door to me I would now be too intimidated by your high standards to even invite you for tea!

From the dark hole which is my demolished kitchen I can only look and wonder!

we don't believe you for a half second....I'm sure it is plenty tidy most times.... it's just that it's even tidier right now..... lol.... but, yeh, and I know what you mean about it being a novelty to actually see shiny and dust free.....it only lasts about 7 minutes and then... miraculously...dust settles.... lint finds its way onto things... no cat hair here...but, doll hair and bear fur in everything.... ick....and ...accckkkk!

Deep breath - it will all be fine. Just get Mr Trendy Specs' clients to take their shoes off! Oh, and explain that Lottie, Millie, Scooter and Hamish (and the Dog) are not part of the fixtures and fittings.

Yes, I thought it sounded horribly as if you were leaving Lottie and Dog as added extras. NO!

Now that your house is immaculate, I don't suppose you'd like to pop up to Edinburgh and do the same here? No?

You may mock, some of you, but you're right to do so - just come round here and you'll find yourself damp-dusted and polished up with a Brasso-laden cloth!

It won't last, of course; I'm just not good at staying tidy for long.....

I can't wait for you to tell us how the first viewings go! I would like to think that the viewing does not include people snooping round your baking cupboards, but you never know. Can you get the cats/dog to line up in a sort of 'guard of honour' for viewees?
