Oh no!

Millie's fur fetish gets worse. That nasty-looking object I've just spotted amongst the cat biscuits was once the favoured toy - a 5-inch-long strip of fur, very useful for throwing in the air and catching with the utmost ferocity, and with a handy bell that was excellent for waking up sleeping humans before dawn, if the throwing and catching didn't do it first.

This is all that remains. I fear for Millie's insides, although I suppose fur is quite digestible - except cat fur, of course, which has to be barfed up on the clean duvet.

The cat toy budget is going to be slashed. The existing and despised stockpile of velour, cotton, fake-fur and stripey knitted mice will remain available on request, but there will be no more special trips to the smelly petfood warehouse to buy the real fur versions. I never felt easy about them anyway, but somehow couldn't resist when I found how much she loved them, and how eagerly she played with them.

I suppose she might be telling me something. And I should be pleased that she didn't eat the bell.

As a fellow cat slave, I appreciate your fears over Millie's digestion of the indigestible, so I have popped out of lurkdom to give you the name of a catnip cat toy that has proven to be truly indestructible that I obtained from the Blue Cross. Called "Mighty Mouse", it came with "Energiser" refills' however I fear it may no longer be obtainable as I have not seen it listed lately. OllieV

One night I heard my mild-mannered Tinkerbell growling fiercely. I turned on the light and found that she had one of my gloves (they had fake-fur around the cuffs) in her teeth. She was fighting with it, tossing it in air and chasing after it.
She was very determined about getting into the closet where I kept a box of old gloves. Finally, I took a few out for her and Tiger. Those gloves are still among their favorite toys. The run from a distance and pounce on the gloves then twirl around crazily with them. They are so funny!

I know, I know, cat stories aren't delightful for everyone. They amuse me no end though! and then I inflict them on you all......

I like the idea of an indestructible mouse toy, and of gloves as mice substitutes. I have some gloves with fake fur cuffs somewhere; I might try those with Millie if she gets really bored!

Please keep the cat stories and pics coming. They are not boring at all.
Non cat lovers need to know what they are missing, and it gives us cat owners comfort to know such antics are being carried out faithfully by cats up and down the land.

I will, Linda. I can't help myself; it's like a disease.
