Down on the allotment today, after a disgraceful period of neglect. Too, too awful to show you the whole plot, with its inedibly-overgrown beans and pumpkin-sized courgettes, but the hollyhocks, last seen looking rather poorly, seem to have made an effort in my absence, and to be entertaining guests.
But the pink hollyhock should be a luscious deep, dark, black-wine-red, or so the label says.
Honestly, you can't turn your back for a moment.....

Show the courgettes! Show the courgettes!
Pumpkin sized!!!!!! One! One - and that was smaller than my little finger!
I know I'm not the only Welsh gardener to suffer from the rain this year, but pumpkin sized!!! In Newcastle!!!!
Ok, ok, I'll go down with the camera later. Maybe 'pumpkin-sized' was stretching it a bit, but I'll stick with 'inedible'....
