It had to be smelled thoroughly all over. Humans get a bit rattled by this. "How rude!" they protest, especially when it's their clothes that are being sniffed so closely.
And then the competition started. Scooter claimed it first.
There was a bit of paw-swiping to repel boarders...
But the boarder persisted...
and won the day.
Despite a smack on the rear as he did so.
"Mine now!" says Hamish.
Her Majesty dislikes presumption. "Out, now, lowly serf!"
"Yes, Your Majesty, at once, Your Majesty."
The Royal Seal of Approval was given.
And now, some hours later, who is inside the splendid new bed? Yes, that's right. No one. Cats wouldn't want to appear easily pleased, now, would they?
Your letter with thank-you pawprints may take a while to arrive, Lesley, so I'll say thank you on their behalf.

Our cats love their igloos. They particularly appreciate a hot water bottle on the floor.
Typical ! I'd place a bet on Hamish as the winner of this perfect hideaway .
Though I do wonder why anyone would design a cat bed in a fur print ....or is that just me ?
In a predator's fur print, at that! We are also blessed with a play tunnel in high-vis yellow. People make their living designing pet products that are death to decor...
Cute. I must say, I'm intrigued by the predator paw print design, too! Surely one with little mice all over it might have held more promise ... (Ha ha ha, the word verification is 'micel' - I honestly didn't plan that!)
They are welcome - yeah I wondered about the leopard print myself. All my dog beds have weird paw print patterns...why, you spend half youf life cleaning paw prints away?!
It was great to see them inspecting, I hope it passes muster in the fullness of time!

I would love to know who wins the igloo and how long it will take!
We've had three of these and the cats have weed in all of them. I don't know why they do this as they seem to enjoy them at first.
One was aprticularly nice in the shape of a mouse...
...puddling wee in the shape of a mouse? Presuming it's the cat igloo shape of course! Lovely pics, and what a great cat gift. Fun post!
What an extremely stylish cat house! I wouldn't mind a slightly larger one myself.
Pam, yes the igloo was mouse-shaped. But take a look here
