Shamed now

Looks like some of you think I'm secretly a tidy and organised person who only pretends, for dramatic effect or worse, to live in a chaotic tip of a house. But I'm really a rather messy and disorganised person who lives in a chaotic tip of a house and  who sneakily clears a little space before taking pictures to fool show you. That filing basket was only a small fragment of what really needs to be sorted, including the plastic bag full of stuff that got swept off the kitchen table and hidden elsewhere before my family arrived for Christmas.

The dresser shows you more accurately what it's like round here..... Heaps (papers, clothes, fabric, empty boxes) are my most incorrigible vice. Sadly, it's been a regular item in the Failed New Year's Resolution list for years.

Ok, that's enough confessing. And you're not seeing the spare attic either.

Mine must be found ....excavated for ..... before my dental appointment on Wednesday . Mind you , if I just turn up with teeth in situ they'll probably let me in .

Oh dear - named and shamed indeed - that looks like the end of our kitchen table.... Sometimes it gets so bad, before we get a grip, that we find ourselves huddled in a tiny space at one end. This is at a table that is over 2 metres long.

clear that place instantly!
Or maybe not, there's thinking to do, reading, writing, eating, drinking, the rubbish will still be there tomorrow to clear away, but the thought might have gone. See? Easy!

Er, no, to be honest, not just 'A' plastic bag.... a large plastic shopper, too. But it used to be much worse when I had boxes of heaps in the attic! And then I got a big shredder.....

hahahah... and... whew !!.... I don't feel so bad now... because, I too, set up a tidy area for photos....
This looks remarkably similar to the set of drawers in my office.....

Well, at least you have a very elegant dresser to put your papers on.

Personally I find a large plastic laundry basket to be particularly useful when it comes to clearing areas quickly. It's so comforting to know that I'm not alone!

Forget chocolate, a shredder is definitely a girl's best friend. The shreddings can then go on to the compost heap or (more fun, if not so green), burnt with a whoosh in the incinerator basket. A thoroughly cleansing experience.

If we get the snow that's promised down the east coast you'll have plenty of time to sort that heap Rachel!

Well that's alright then. I thought I was the only one. (My piles of stuff extend to the office, too, much to my colleagues' disgust).

I bought these cute stacked wicker baskets to stash away all of the untidy papers/mail/etc. Okay; they are already full.
