Video evidence

Who did this? I was only out of the room for ten minutes!

Torn paper, daffodil leaf, a throw - its name taken too literally - dragged off the armchair. Teenage boys hanging about, avoiding eye contact. It's an ugly scenario.

"Wasn't me!", says Scooter, although his credentials as confetti maker are well-established. "Ask him!"

"Not me", says Hamish, the picture of innocence. "Must be Millie."

But he can't maintain that look of injured honesty for long. Pounce!

So I sit  and wait. It's a stake-out.

"Don't you go blaming me, ginger villain!" says Millie. "Take that!"

WIP.

Rupert does not find this to be acceptable behaviour. He would like them all to know that in his 17.5 years he has NEVER made such a mess! Looks fun though!

So cute! I think he was trying to make a paper snowflake.

Bertie (that's him with the lovely black coat) chews and chomps cardboard boxes, leaving a trail of debris. He also likes plastic carrier bags and will make a beeline for any left abandoned. He purrs and poddles and tries to make a nest. We think it was because he was rescued with his brothers and sisters from near a supermarket and that was his original bedding.

No wonder he's taken so well to cavity wall insulation, roaring fires, Waitrose food and taking up most of the kingsize bed. 'Spoilt, moi?'

Hope that tattered paper wasn't the first draft of your bestselling novel.

Help ! When I first looked I thought I saw Millie's detached tail among the debris .
P.S. Thankyou ! I found the Portfolio plan when I checked your tip . And I like almonds and porridge !

It must be fun living with all of those cartoon characters in your house.

Mrs Plod and Em send greetings..Mrs Plod would never in her decades have done such a thing, Em is a different kettle of fish, a furniture rippper of the first order.

Oh, I love that silent furry wrestling that catlets do.

But heavens, I'm so glad that our cats confine their depredations to ripping the furniture and the wallpaper - not MY MARKING! I mean, I'm not at all glad that they rip our chairs/wallpaper. But marking - argh. (Especially marked marking. Unmarked marking... hmm. "The cat ate your essay." Yes, I'm beginning to like it...)

Thankfully, they chose the other side of the few sheets of paper on which my knitting pattern was carefully written out.....

But Scooter did destroy my Christmas card list a few weeks ago. I must learn to be tidier.

It's a fair cop!

One of my cats (like Paddy Paws') loves to destroy cardboard and carrier bags. He's never known hardship or living outdoors. He's just a vandal...

Gasp! I too thought for a terrible moment that there was a cat tail amongst the debris.

I have a dog with a love of tissues, she cannot walk past a discarded tissue in a wastepaper bin without making sure it will never live again..

It seems to me that there is only one thing worse than having to pick up the family's discarded tissues and that would be having to pick up said tissues in little tiny pieces...
