Doggy boarding school report: day 2
Today we learned to:
Join in with the class
Wait to be invited (in, out, to follow Fran down the garden)
To walk on a relaxed lead (better if Fran was at one end, rather than me!)
Make good eye contact
To sit, even when the neighbours' dogs were barking madly at us
To bring our food bowl to show we'd licked it nice and clean
To run about in the fields, to play with a ball, to come back when called
But also to learn new exciting things (on the 3rd attempt only!) and look very pleased with ourselves
And then we had a little lie down. Because we deserved it.
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.......

Oh, that last photo!
Those photographs are priceless, especially the ones where they're all looking so attentive. I wonder what Fran had in her hand . . . ;-)
I can see Flossie being an agility dog as well as a PAT dog - you are going to be busy :-)
(But maybe you'd just rather have a really nice obedient companion to lie on your feet and keep them warm.)
What incredible progress. An A* dog I'd say.
Brilliant....you will have the best behaved dog in England ...and I wish my hair shone like that !!!
I wish my classes looked so sweet as that! And so attentive!
Just found your blog a couple days ago, really enjoying it. I have two small dogs (miniature pinscher/doxie) and two cats (also feed feral cats/strays).
Looking forward to your updates about the new addition to your pet family. I would love to have a larger dog, just haven't taken the plunge yet!
Wonderful! It just shows how much a dog likes to have something to think about. She is going to be marvellous.
I especially like the photos where the tail's ablur.
She is so pretty and so intelligent! You have a very special dog there.
Fabulous photos - and I love the clip of her climbing on the hay bale. One of Stuart's friends has dogs which she trains for agility trials - I think she and her husband travel all over to take part in competitions (and this year, the little surprise addition to their family, a beautiful baby girl, will be going too!!)
I had no idea that so much work went into the re-homing of dogs. Did Tosca undergo anything like this? Did the cats? Stupid question!!
A well earned rest! :)
love the tongue lolling happy well exercised and stimulated panting audio - so, who's the proud expectant Mama ??? huh ??? xo les Gang
A star pupil !
Our school walks weren't that much fun . Two by two to the river and back , gloves and hat firmly in place . Mind you , straw didn't come in lovely rolls either then .
I think i could use a little time with Fran my own self.
Nothing could be sweeter than all the attentive pups.
I think I'm in love.

That Doggy boarding school sounds such a brilliant idea (doesn't he look like a star!)
oh and (whispering)can I confess to a soft spot for the collie class mate :0)
Oh Rachel, such wonderful photographs, you made my evening.
Someone here mentioned the word priceless. The photo of all the dogs sitting staring at the instructor is positively priceless! Like school children gathered to be read to.
Brenda
She looks so sweet... I'm really glad she will have a good home with you. I think I would want to adopt that whole class!
all those dogs in one place started to make me tense!
i love the photos of the hay roll and the first of her lying down, looks like she is leaping across pink space :) looking forward to meeting her in person (sic) without all her friends and fully doesd on anti-histamine.
Oh I'm loving following Florence's progress! All those dogs sitting look just wonderful. She really was pleased with herself on the hay bale wasn't she? And the last picture of her sleeping is great! I bet you can't wait to get her home!

These pictures are way too cute!!! All those little critters (pardon me; Ladies and Gentlemen) waiting patiently for their well deserved treats...It doesn't get any cuter..
You go girl!
Love from Bryn in Oz.
oh, Rachel! I just love the pictures of the dogs sitting so sweetly waiting for their specific treat. Reminds me of when my friends with multiple dogs would visit and, along with my two, they would sit while we "named the treat" so they knew whose it was! You have a lot of fun ahead.
