The cats have made their views known already, here.
Except for Hamish, who stayed out of the way. This morning, he was asked what he felt about this whole dog business.
Not impressed, apparently.
In fact: "Pthhhh...."
The dog wasn't bowled over either.
She tried ignoring it.
Then she had to show her tooth. Bouncy 16-month-old dogs need to know their place.
That settled things. The pecking order was established.
Nobody asked the new dog what she thought.
But she seemed to be having a good time.
It's less than a week since she was handed in for rehoming, and there is much work to do to make sure she fits in successfully to an established household where residents have robust opinions....
She'll be joining us when her papers, vaccinations and basic training are completed, and she is fit for polite society.
What polite society might feel is another matter. But I'm rather thrilled.

Oh dear, not the most auspicious start, is it? Though how they could fail to fall under the spell of that gorgeous girl is quite beyond me...
I'm sure deep down they're all excited really, but just don't know how to show it! She looks lovely, but then all labs do.
Well , she should liven things up no end !

You're brave! But what lucky animals you have. Deep inside, they know it. Hamish has been getting some 'th' tips from someone, has he? I think you should enable Parental Controls: he's he's been reading Estorbo's blog, and it's not for small cats.

The new dog looks like she is smiling... I think she's happy to be there. Your animals are indeed very lucky.

She looks quite errr..... energetic? I think little Tosca is more my size.
It seems to have gone pretty well for an initial meeting. I mean, when I was first introduced to my husband it was kind of "meh" but here we are thirty odd years later. And not that much hissing and baring of gnashers in between.
Oh my, you know (don't you) how much we love the tiny dog. Her XLarge personality, her oh so dramatic facial expressions and body language, her smaller than a cat physique and oh yes her thrilling ability to fly - we are crazy about her. Please tell her.

She looks really sweet! I think she will charm the others into liking her.
We already had a tiny poodle when we got a cocker spanial puppy. The first night, we left the poodle in her basket and the new puppy in a bed fashioned from a cardboard box (in case she chewed it). Of course the next morning the spaniel was in the poodle's bed - and that just set the pattern of behaviour! One good thing though - the poodle was a very slow, fussy eater - she soon learned to eat her meal as soon as she was given it, or the spaniel scoffed it!!

She looks a lovely natured dog. Labs usually are. Once the cats and dogs get to know each other they will be fine. In our "mixed household" the cats are definitely in charge but will often curl up next to one of the dogs.
Good luck with her Rachel. I hope she will be with you soon.
I love the dog! She looks just like the black lab I used to have. The cats will get used to her in time.
