Orange joy

Flossie found a Disney toy in a back lane yesterday. Filthy (but what's a bit of muck to a dog?) yet untattered, it had been outside for a while, and not just dropped moments ago by a child. She carried it home, quivering with pride and delight.

And then had to sit crestfallen while the new treasure was put in the washer and dried to lurid fluffiness.

It had to pass the quality assurance test carried out by the in house Inspector.

And then she was allowed to claim her find.

Tosca didn't want to share it.

So it was all Flossie's.

She shares it with me. Thank you; it's a bit too drooly for me.

She carries it everywhere. Flossie's best toy.

I think she loves it.

Oh how lovely - she certainly seems attached doesn't she? Where are you moving to? Must say your house looks lovely!

Ohhh, that's just too precious!
Flossie looks so perkily delighted with her new toy! And she found it her own self!
Flossie is a beautiful girl.

Do dogs get broody?

Well, I did wonder about this being Flossie's baby, until I saw her shake it violently, and toss it in the air several times! I think that what Flossie really needs is another dog to play with.... and no, no, no, that's not going to happen, not till the staid and unplayful Yorkie is no longer with us.....

Rachel is unable to adopt any more animals. She has now taken to collecting toy animals, using Flossie as an excuse!

That is just so cute! One of Stuart's presents for his first Christmas (he was 3 months old) was an Andrex puppy. Then when we got our spaniel Honey, she appropriated it as her puppy - she would put it in her bed and curl herself round it!

Oh what a sweet soul Flossie is...my springer would have, alas, eviscerated it in 5 minutes.

I hope she treats it like a Lady!! Lovely to see her enjoying it.

So cute. Don't they just love to take possession of their finds! I caught my cocker spaniel all curled up asleep in her bed last night on one of my cardigans, that she had 'found' (or stolen) from my bedroom.

Sooooo lovely. The pics with Flossie with new best friend in her mouth are my favourite. So happy, proprietorial and proud, maternal even. Eyes shining. What a gorgeous girl she is.
