Background noise

Vrrrrrrrrrrrrrooooooooooommmmmmm.... Vrrrrrrrrrrrrrooooooooooommmmmmm....

Imagine having a car engine running for hours in an adjoining room.

That's what a big dehumidifier sounds like, as it dries the outer wall to allow the painter to start work, hopefully next week.

I leave it on for as long as I can bear.

Then I am reminded that silence is golden.

From wikipedia: "The Tremeloes are an English beat group founded in 1958 in Dagenham, Essex, and still active today."
Still active today????
Man...rock concerts sure have changed in fifty years, haven't they?

Outch! Dehumidifiers and generators are amongst the worse of noisemakers! Sadly, we cannot live without it...
Hang in there! Ear plugs maybe? Better buy some for the whole family, furry ones too!
There is light at the end of the tunnel Rachel...
Think of all you have accomplished since you first arrived!

What a good way to start a Sunday morning, listeneing to the Tremeloes (I love 60s music, I have lots and lots of CDs!!)
Hopefully the weather is good today and you can take the dogs out for a long walk to escape the noise.

Our house is so damp we have a dehumidifier running all the time. Not as big and as noisy as that one though!

Middle Daughter's hot water tank emptied into her kitchen below and they had a dehumidifier going for weeks .... not a time they'd want to repeat .
She'd recommend a full time job till the plaster's dried .

That would drive me demented, as it would affect the only part of my hearing that I have left. I do not envy you.

I agree, silence is golden. I hate noise, especially those "weed whackers"... don't know if you have those there.
