Pursuing a life of glamour

Added later: Same as exactly one year ago today!! If you want to be spooked, click HERE

I am tired today. I am tired because I got up at 4.30 a.m.

This dog is empty.

Flossie is empty because she applied herself conscientiously to the task - at both ends - between 4.30 a.m. and 5.15, despite an intervening walk in the dark. Evidently she preferred to finish her emptying indoors.

And now she is carrying her bowl everywhere. It seems that I should be giving her some breakfast, because, well, she is EMPTY.....

Not bloomin' likely.

'Tis the season for canine digestive disturbances, it seems. Still, think of all the things you can do today with those unexpected (unwanted) extra hours.

How you can write such a funny post about it amazes me. I trust that a bit of starvation will sort her trouble.

Just as we were running out the door yesterday, clean hair, bearing gifts, late for brunch, Nika threw up. Twice. Had she been served chicken curry?

For the love of a dog.

On a happier note all your reno has paid off beautifully:)

Poor you and poor Flossie. Next year make plans on the 18th... just in case...

Alas, this is a dog who, because of her delicate insides, rarely gets treats, and then in such minuscule amounts that they could be homeopathic. Last year it was the profusion of readily-available student garbage in our snowed-in back lanes that did for her; this year, in a much cleaner environment, I have no idea what caused it. Next year she may be booked into kennels until the fated date has passed..... (kidding)...

Poor Flossie, maybe it's the excitement of Christmas? She has the pitiful look down pat. The bowl-with-her-in-the-bed scene is so sad/sweet/funny I laughed out loud. I feel for you, been there done that, (more than once).

Here's to your new home and better digestive systems for the new year.

I don't envy either of you one little bit. Poor pathetic Flossie, sitting in the basket with the bowl. I do hope that she has made a full recovery.

Poor, poor Flossie! The photos are priceless Rachel and the camera worth every pence!
Hang in there!

Oh the joys of an upset doggy tum - I remember it well. Then the pathetic looks when all she was allowed was plain boiled rice and scrambled egg .....
Hope poor Flossie is recovering and will soon be back to her usual bouncy self!

So Flossie gave you exactly the same birthday present this year as last year's???

At least she is consistent...and sweetly adorable in her basket with her bowl...

poor old floss . the merest whiff of a treat obviously makes her delicate tum turn somersaults .
.... but i reserve my deepest sympathy for you !

My old lab is losing a bit of control these days... comes to us all I suppose. It it always, but always, at most inconvenient times.
Hope you had a wonderful birthday x

Dogs. Hmm.

Starvation. Be firm. Do not be swayed by those gorgeous eyes.

You may be pursuing a life of glamour but it seems an alternative type of life is pursuing you with more vigour!!

I hope Flossie is feeling better today and that you don't have to deal with that nastiness again for a very very long time (or ever but I suspect that is a little optimistic!)

All the best for your first Devonian Christmas.

I do find it totally amusing that my 3 1/2 pound long-coat chihuahua is a complete tank compared to sturdy "looking" Floss. That dog could eat half a throw rug, all of his food, all of the cat's food, most of the wrapping paper (ribbon included) off a fairly large sized gift, drink nearly all of the water out of the Christmas tree - and then burp and run off with the shake of a tail. Nothing fazes the little piglet.

Priceless photos, what a face! Dogs are so good at the guilty sad look. Hope things stay where they belong in the future!
