Nothing to say, nothing to blog about, nothing much in my head either, except rain, drizzle, grey skies, the horror of salads in cold weather, the need for a wood fire some nights - in July! - and keeping jumpers to hand. So depressing.
Posting this photo of someone who is finding it rather jolly to be the Only Dog, simply to let you know that I haven't given up altogether, and will come back to this blog one day.
Meantime, I would really really like some summer.....

Today, in my little part of the world, it is sunny with a slight breeze. If I could package up this weather and send it to you (along with a packet of my favourite tisane blended specially to make iced tea), I would already be on my way to the post office. I hope more cheerful days return to you soon.
I think we're all similarly afflicted . I've been mooching about in a fleece jacket , listening to the new Terry Prachett on audio and cooking carrot and ginger soup .
What I'd really like to do is sit under a palm tree , sipping something cool and reading a holiday novel , one of those daft ones with gold writing on the cover .....
No need to worry it is on it way! Summer that is!x
I wish I could send you my relentless sunshine, 100 + degree weather, and no rain for over a month. My yard, garden, and flowers are all crispy brown. My shrubs are dying and the trees are looking very ill. Weather does tend to go to extremes. Hope sunshine is in your future.
Not much sun here either. We watch the Tour de France, lovely weather !!! I really miss your blog and keep checking it every day!!!
The jet stream is still here today! After one sunny morning ( yesterday) we are back to rain, rain and more rain.
I do sympathise Rachel. Let`s hope we really will get some summer next week.
Cool and often dreary grey skies here on the Pacific NW coastline! Jumpers a must here too (never in July in the 10 years we have lived here on the island!)
Oh Flossie! Glad to see you Sweetie and tell Mum to give you a big hug for us!
i have the same dilemma--depressed and running out of words--but on the other side of the spectrum: Just like SVB, it is deathly hot here, have had no rain for weeks on end, the garden is dying even as i spend hours each dragging hoses all 'round--in hopes i can keep trees and shrubs alive. Nevermind all the perennials and veg.
Would gladly share with all you soaked UK folks--give you some of our sunshine for a good drenching of your rain--then we'd all have a fine summer.
I have missed your blogs..they have got less and less recently! I blame the gardener! Hope you are having a great time together..he looks smashing!
Ok, we will switch. Send your stuff state-side and we will send our dry air and sun your way. It's just a little pond between us.
OK, let's switch. You send some moisture and we will send sun. It's only a pond between us.
Hmmmm...and I was blaming the Gardener! I miss your writing.
I'm in the same boat as Sweet Virginia Breeze, above. It's been too hot and dry and everything is turning brown. I would love to send you some of this heat and sunshine if only I could. I have been in a dreary mood, too. I hope we both find a reason to cheer up soon.
The weather is set to improve next week, with the rain moving to the Northwest of Scotland, where it is actually needed!!
Oh we know the feeling only too well. I for one am hoping that the jet stream moves FAR north so that we get a glimpse of summer before perpetual winter returns to Perthshire.
I'm wondering how I can apply WD40 to my rusting joints!
I feel much the same here in South Staffordshire. Today it's hardly rained..who knows it could be the same tomorrow!
We'll still be here when you decide to post again :o)

101degrees here feels like 110....maybe just a few days of your weather please.
"Can't it just be nice" Jane whined.
xo J,
I think you've made F's nose look rather large in that photo. Don't let her see it.
I feel the same way. Love the doggie picture. Reminds me of a funhouse mirror.
None of us is ever happy with our climatalogical lot! I was doing a happy dance until 5 minutes ago when the sodden(or soddin'!)weather returned. Back to damp laundry, ink that wont dry, paper that is cockling and no dry socks. sigh...
(This should be my dry season!)
It will arrive, any minute now I think, so stay chirpy - we need you.
We are having an excess of summer, would be delighted to exchange weather for a couple of days . . . a change being as good as a vacation.
Angus is thoroughly enjoying being an Only Dog too. He's been waiting sixteen years for this!
The dog beside me on the sofa (not sure which one as under several cushions) has just heaved a huge sigh which sounds as if she agrees with you.
Sun please, or at least no rain, as soon as possible!

We've finally had a break from the hideous heat , and we welcomed the big destructive, loud storm that came through yesterday and the cool, cloudy morning!
Kiss that Labby face for me!!!
I'm about to do a big catch up on your blog, so just popping a 'hello' on first. Apparently summer's on it's way. We've had a peek of it today here in Pembrokeshire and very lovely it was too. Briefly.
So sorry to hear about Tosca. You gave her such a lovely life. Much sympathy. Your part of the world still looks very beautiful - despite the rain and The Gardener seems a handsome addition to the scenery too!
It's dire here. relentless rain of the torrential order, cold (10C yesterday...) and dark. We have the heating on every evening, and I've been having a water bottle! Roll on winter...
we've got summer with a vengeance now....I golfed on Wednesday in +31C....acckkk! 'orrible and sweaty! we were totally wilted ..didn't even stay for a drink after ...just went home for a cool bath...
Why can't it just be perfect golf weather all year 'round? ...say, like, ... + 15 C or so....
