I can hear you tutting from here.... but I couldn't bear to have only one door in the house left unpainted, and, ungrateful wilful wretch that I am, decided to go against all you lovely people who took the time to express an opinion (thank you!). The paint has brought out the prettiness of the etched glass, though, in a way that the plain wood didn't.
