On the first day of summer...

...my vendor emailed to say that they had found a house to buy. Even better, as it is currently a second home, it could be cleared by the end of July.

If I wasn't spending the day sitting propped up or lying down and stuffed woozily with painkillers because of my painful back, I would jump for joy.

Jumping volunteers welcome!

May I be first in the queue? I am jumping, really, I am jumping very high and if I hurt my back I shall not blame you. Hope you're fit to jump soon.

Delighted to start jumping on your behalf - will go over to the allotment and begin.

Well-timed - guess that means you'll manage the potato picnic!

Excellent news about the chain. Not so about your back. Go steady with those packing cases.

Fabulous news! If my back wasn't in spasm I'd do the jumping for joy but as it happens, getting out of bed is too painful at the moment. How about I shout and wave my arms about for a while? Better soon for both of us!

You don't have time for a bad back - too much packing to do!

Clearly we are all thrilled. Releasing held breath now, very red in face, unable to jump at this moment, just happy to be able to breath again.

Wonderful news!

Not sure that my back is up to jumping but I'll say a restrained British "Jolly good!"

I wish someone would buy my mum's flat...

I just did a victory dance round the room on your behalf and the dogs looks most perturbed!!

Actually it was very energising, cheered me up after discovering that I have only managed to get 2 lots of tickets to the BOXING at the Olympics which means that I can't go in the second chance draw....
