Monday

Speechless.

Silently and frequently, I remind myself that I have invited all of this; in fact, I am parting with wads of cash for it to happen.

But, oh but.....

I'll be back when it's all over.

(The mantra: It will all be worth it in the end.....)

Oh goodness, that's scary stuff. But just think how amazing it is to be able to do work like that in November. Even up here in Nanook's own country it's wonderfully mild and I've got fruit trees being planted tomorrow. Winter, what winter? Famous last words . . .

My kitchen ceiling is starting to blister again if that's any distraction?

Send one of your men over will you? You seem to have an abundance of them....

Oh, my. Quite the undertaking. Can't wait to see the finished product. I bet it will be beautiful, and not a bit damp. Right?

I now have an image of all eight of you (eight???) huddling inside, with 'stuff' up to your ears (significantly higher than their ears in most cases!!) in a higgledy-piggledy manner. Shall we all make little builder dolls and buy supplies of pins?

I can't think of anything to say ..... except of course that it has to get worse before it gets better, and you are obviously at the 'worse' stage!! Hang on in there, it will soon be finished, then you can regale us all with amusing tales of 'what the builders did'!!

At least it is not IN the house! Think positive. It will be a good and useful space...eventually.

Oooh er! That's serious building work - or is it still demolition?

Better to get it over and done with before you are too settled and cosy. Looking forward to seeing the 'after' pictures - imagine you are too.

I've got my hand clamped over my mouth. Please show us 'after' as soon as possible.

Your local construction workers must be beginning to see you as something of a cash cow, aren't they?

Your mantra .... definitely the way to go; that and reach for the hair dye, cake, and long afternoon walks with Flossie. Commiserations, but - like childbirth - you will forget the pain and enjoy the outcome. OllieV

I think it's going to be lovely :0)

As I sit here looking towards my kitchen and thinking my god this doesn't like my house, I look back on the grot and the demolition with strong fellow feeling. It'll be lovely, you know it will!

You'll be fine. Truly you will and it will all be worth it.

In a few weeks you'll look back on all of this and smile - honest...

It's either renovate or demolish - it could be either from your photos.
