Personal preference

The Gardener is online, listening with great enjoyment to someone playing a harp.

I can't abide the harp.

I happened to mention that when I was very young, I decided that perhaps I'd rather not go to heaven in case I had to hear harp music forever. The Gardener said that his fear was having to go to Peru and having Pan pipes played at him.

Oh well. Perhaps something else.....

Ha! I'd reather watch that video all day than listen to the ORGAN, which greeted me at church each Sunday!!!

I expect he called his mum for a nice chat after that.

What - no banjo?

Thank goodness the video begins with a warning.

One word, works to keep peace at my house: earbuds.

Too funny Rachel! (I'll pass on the video!) Granny said she did not want to go to Heaven as she was told she would be served soft rice!
We are drowning on the West Coast after all those weeks of drought!
Mac and gum boots are the order of the day (make that week). Tell Flossie the Corgi (who hates rain)groans at the mere sight of his rain gear...
Have a lovely weekend,

Well I dread getting there and finding a choir of children. I would rather tear out my fingernails than listen to children's choirs. I used to be almost insane with despair when my own were young and made it into the school choir. It's not the done thing to stay away apparently. We can all laugh about it now...

For me, it's organ. Why, after such near-brilliant mechanics and complex and beautiful construction does it make that god-awful noise!
Pan pipes run a pretty close second.

Yep, harps should be banned. Wussy, plinky things.

Having said that, recorders, played by small children, should be next on the list....followed by organs played at glacial speed. Don't get me started.

I'll listen to almost anything with great enjoyment but not , NOT didgeredoos on street corners or interminable drum solos anywhere . ( I'll have to play the video tomorrow ... Napalm Death might wake the neighbours at the moment .
Looking forward to it !)

I love the Celtic lap harp, the lute, and most of the "heavenly" instruments. I love the organ only if it's enormous.

*snort*

Maybe they have different music rooms in heaven and you can choose your preference.

I love the harp too but am totally with mountainear on the didgeridoo. What is it for?

I would think heaven would allow you to listen to the type of music you like and not subject you to those grating noises that pass as music.

Oh so familiar. Other Half has bought earphones for his laptop and harmony is restored.

Don't they say that opposites attract?

Forgive me for not keeping up, but I'm interested in your discovery of Annie Sloane paints. I too have a large bookcase to do. How easy is it to get a good finish.. without brushmarks?

I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't like the harp. Or anything tuneful. Nasty bangy stuff, though...

yeh, well....sound like a bunch of idiots to me..... I'll gladly take harps and pan pipes any day...... but, in reality..... silence is so much nicer.

I don't mind the harp in small doses, though it lacks dynamics. What I really can't stand is recorder music!
