Awful day

Flossie had the end of her torn toe trimmed yesterday. I won't show you; it's a small wound, but a bit stomach-churning.

The sedative took rather a long time to wear off; she couldn't quite sit up straight, and had to lean against the radiator, drooling a little and gazing into space.

She wasn't impressed with the sock, either.

Much nicer to sit on the Lovely Son instead and bask in all the love and sympathy.

Today? Back to normal. No swimming though.

Too bad she has to wear both the sock and a plastic bag to go out for walks.

She rustles gently when she walks, as though she was wearing nylons. Swish swish swish......

It looks as though the Lovely Son's visit couldn't have been better timed... Here's to Lottie's quick recovery!

We had a black lab too and had many trips to the vets. A sock was also used that she promptly removed...Good luck with all of this, it is always so hard to see our 'fur' children not feeling great.

Have a nice weekend.

I'm glad Flossie had a loving lap in which to recover. Poor girl.
She probably doesn't even know she had anything wrong with her!

There is no end to the travails of Flossie. You too will have an endless stream of good stories to tell in our retirement!

Poor Flossie. She looks both sad and nonchalant at the same time! And it's not much fun for a lady to go out walking wearing a sock and a carrier bag! I hope she heals up quickly.

It's good that the LS is there to help Flossie relax. Lap-sitting Labradors are rather a trial though, particularly when they fidget. Dalmatians are just as bad.

You must be glad the Lovely Son is there to share the dog-cuddling duties!! I love the first photo of her! Have a wonderful weekend with the LS.

Bag lady , in fact !
Poor old thing looks very peaky . Still , nothing a snack or two and a lap won't cure .
Life with Flossie isn't dull , anyway .

Much experience with sedated dogs and their woozy wobbliness. Poor things, it must be so confusing. One day you have a sore foot and a sexy sock, next it's sore foot, sock and away with the fairies.

Better tomorrow I hope. Have a lovely time with the LS.

She looks in doggie heaven on the LS's knee! Hope the toe heals OK.

Poor Flossie. She must wonder why the world hurts and upsets her so much. Or do you think she forgets as soon as each episode is over? At least she now has you, her new toy AND the LS for a while!

Oh poor Flossie, first her tummy, then her paw. Hope she's better soon. Wishing you all a lovely weekend!

Aren't animals funny? My little pooch burnt her front pads when we had a fire in our conservatory, so had it treated by the vet. She sported a lovely bright pink bandage for a week, which, like you, I had to protect with a plastic bag when we went out. Si I know the swish, swish very well. Purdy kept tripping over hers and I swear that she only limped when we were watching her!!
I hope Flossie is better soon.

Get well soon Flossie. My much-missed 16hh thoroughbred horse used to do that sort of thing to his hooves. We needed much bigger socks for him!

Bless her. She is so sweet, especially the way she loves that toy she found. Hope she is well on the way to a speedy recovery.

Poor Flossie! Hope she recovers quickly.

We spent thousands of dollars at the vet with our black lab. He was so full of life and got into everything, resulting in numerous injuries and various bandages that never stayed on.
