Fire, fire!

From my attic window yesterday:

And from people closer to the action, these dramatic pictures.

What a horrendous fire - I hope the smoke blew away from you ...... the smell from the burning tyres must have been awful.

Hello

I have just found your blog and the dramatic photos of my former home town, Newcastle.

I am now your newest follower and anticipate more North East stories.

Nasty! Hope the smell has dissipated somewhat now. Our forest still smells :-(

I saw the plume of smoke from Seaham, when I was out in the car. I wondered what it was, then found out when I got back home.

It's just amazing that no-one was badly hurt.

Hope you're not left with a lingering pong for long .
When a cheapo furniture shop , packed with foam matresses , bean bags and melamine tat , burnt near us a few years ago , the neighbouring residents were all given blood tests to see what exactly they'd inhaled . The town smelt yukky for quite a while ! But we all survived .
