Try chocolate and maybe peanut butter. You have to take them far far away. They cling to the sides so quite firm tapping needed to dislodge them. Good luck.
I'm relieved our Henry has decided to retire from hunting. Mice rarely featured, it was usually rabbits, who leave an unbelievable amount of stress induced poo and wee after a night behind the sofa!
My brother used to have a happy hunting pair of felines who would bring back gifts of lively shrews who then proceeded to hide under the duvet with him ..he slept on a mattress on the floor (Of course the cats had to bring them into the bedroom ...he'd want to see them straight away ..wouldn't he...?)
Well , let's face it . There's never just one mouse ..... Lucille's right . Peanut butter's good as bait as is a scrap of raw bacon . Cheese doesn't entice mice , for some reason . And then take them MILES away . Round the corner won't do . All that peanut butter'll have given them Marathon legs . If you ever find a mousehole , by the way , fill it with steel wool . It blocks them very effectively .
I'm still working on the theory that Millie brings them in from the great outdoors, just like her other food offerings, and that if I get them out of the house quickly, I won't be overrun - unless she finds (and I fail to find) a pregnant mouse.....
Thanks for all the suggestions; I'll keep you posted!
Have you caught the mouse yet? Rodents don't stand a chance at my house. Mazie Grace is an expert at hunting and catching prey. Maggie May has never caught a thing.

Hamish has a kind of "Vengeance is ours" look on his face. Surely they've not just found a perfect way to wind you up? Surely not.

Your cats are adorable and good sentinels.
One morning I found a mouse, apparently electrocuted, inside the toaster. That was after I had toasted my bread but fortunately before I ate it!

The humane trap worked for me, with a dab of peanut butter inside it.Good luck!

You have the cutest sentries!
Oh no, a pregnant mouse... perish the thought!
We used peanut butter too, it always worked, although I did wonder if it was the same one which kept coming back.
