First catch of Spring

Hamish! Come quick! See what I found!

It moves! It buzzes!

It's hypnotic.......

Let's catch it.

I want it!

Let's eat it.

Num num. Crunchy....

Tastes.... funny.

Maybe you should eat the next one, Scooter.

And maybe I should cough it up now....

But five minutes later, Millie comes home:

Look at this one, boys.

See what you can aspire to?

Impressed?

Clever Millie. Rupert hasn't brought anything home for a long time. He says he's retired!

I love the striking new banner photo. Your cats are endlessly entertaining and your pix and words are so funny. Brightened up what's been a hideously hot day.

erm... yum?

Luckily Pocket, my cat, responded to the firm 'no' when she tried to bring a bird in... and has never done anything like that again.

We have a deal with our wards - they get an allowance if they catch flies and keep all mice out. They love the flies - so much fun and tasty! Other people on our floor have complained about mice, but we have never seen one. Lola and Mr. Beans are vigilant. They also supplement their income by claiming all change that hits the floor, but I think some paws have helped that change make it to the floor. I'm not complaining; I get the loveliest bday presents from them!

We get frogs and voles in the cellar (not 100% sure how they are getting in but I do leave a big window open for the tumble dryer vent?)and the cats love rummaging in the coal and logs looking for them.

Not sure how long it will be before we start getting the small gifts on the doorstep - spring, tra la la!

Tell Millie that I'm impressed - she's doing a good job.

A delightful post! I love your new header. too.

That made me smile! Millie does look smug, and the boys seem ever so slightly baffled by the new free-range food. But at least you haven't come down to find a live and furious wood pigeon on the top of the Christmas tree. We're still finding stray feathers.(Thanks, Monty)
