Foggy morning

I have always loved fog, the thicker the better. I have vivid memories of walking to school at the age of five, our footsteps muffled, the end of the path mysterious, concealed in mist, the hedges magical and lovely, laced with dew-laden cobwebs. We seem to have such all-enveloping fogs less often now.

Today began unusually foggy, and the brutal outlines of Vale House were barely visible.

Gradually the mists cleared, and there it was again. Pity.

It was a good day for would-be hunters to sit on windowsills and lash their tails, chattering at rooftop birds.

It was a good day to make lunch for an old friend from work.

Fridge soup. Salad to follow - we are both attempting to reduce our middle-aged midriffs.

But it might not have been such a good day for shearing sheep small dogs...

even though the situation was becoming desperate.

I don't think she likes her new hairstyle. There there, says her beloved teddy; it'll grow back soon. The dog is not consoled; how can she face her public looking scalped?

I think she looks chic and ready for spring. Good job she's not here as it's been snowing all day again...

Love the pics - and I think the doggie looks sweet with her new bob "do"!

Fog was foggier in the '50s . In fact it was often smog and A Bad Thing . Obviously anything that obliterates Vale House for a while is A Good Thing.
Have every sympathy with Tosca ... went to the hairdresser yesterday and emerged looking like Millie Mollie Mandy . I think I prefer Tosca's look .

Please tell the dog that Rupert and I think that she is beautiful, and that no one can see her in the fog anyway!

Oh, she's cute!

It's all very well liking fog if you're not fighting your way through the traffic on the way to work...

I think the dog looks very chic! Tell Teddy to tell her so.

But she looks beautiful - no need to hide.

That tower block looks like the thingy out of 2001 a Space Oddesey - you've not noticed any doomy music or anyone more extra terrestial than usual have you?

That's a very stylish cut. Looks like she misses her face concealing do however, and has been forced to hide behind teddy.

S&S you can't beat the Milly-Molly-Mandy look it's always popular and never goes out of fashion.
here we have to trim Mrs Plod for Summer, she's a long-haired Torty. She minds less than Tosca seems to.

Giving a Yorkie a haircut is something I do NOT miss! Mine used to growl at me all the time, she hated it until it was over and then she was quite chirpy!

That's magic - Vale House appearing out of the fog like that! Dark magic of course.

I know I've got to shear my sheep too but can't face it. I can't take them to the grooming place either as they will properly scalp them so it'll have to be a holding job by me...sigh... Their paws are like dinner plates and my friend said that they look like they're wearing pajamas! It has to be done!
