Love and happiness, chocolate and firecrackers

Perhaps, like me, you didn't expect or receive a Valentine's Day card, and perhaps, also like me, you harbour cynical thoughts about the crass commercialism of yet another 'special' day that separates most people from their cash all too easily, and guilt-trips those that are less susceptible.

Perhaps you might like a virtual chocolate (photo of, from the archives - the real thing got eaten a long time ago!) to remind you that you are, for all that, loved. At least, I hope you are. I know I am.

And I hope that the Year of the Tiger will be a good one for you and me. Love, happiness, serenity and all things sweet for us all.

And just a bit of whizz bang excitement now and then.

Happy Heart day to you, too :)
and year of the Tiger - sounds promising - fierce and a blaze of orange - how could it not be fantastic?

That was a lovely post, thank you. Today is my little black cat's fourth birthday, so it's been a Happy Frankie Valentine day here - we all shared a tin of pink salmon!

Two thoughts: any reason for chocolate is okay with me; and, I'm glad to hear it's the year of the Tiger.... my favorite cat is named Tiger.

Thanks for the virtual choc, you must have known I've given up the real thing.
Found you through Isabelle and will be back to follow the adventures of your cats and dog.
I Love Cats, my 2 had their 15th birthday last week.
That Vale House! how depressing to live there!

Many of us have the Love of A Good Cat. My darling moggie fell for all the commercialism and cleverly managed to buy a boxed set of Audrey Hepburn films. (His claws couldn't manage to remove the 'sale' and £15 sticker though.)

Thanks for sharing the love of your beautiful felines - every day, not just 14th February.

thank you and a happy Valentine's day (as was) to you too.
Have a look at my post on Valentine's Day. I bet you'd like it.
Get past beyond the drunken orgy first, though.

I got a card and a pencil case for Valentine's day. Not too crassly commercial, I feel.

I cunningly gave him some chocolates and have been helping him to eat them....

We don't do Valentine's Day in our house and I always feel a bit self conscious saying so. It sounds a bit cross somehow and that is not at all how it is. We just never have. I suspect it means we eat chocolate all year long.
