That bridge...

...today's banner,  dear commenters, isn't in London, or in Perthshire either, I'm afraid. It's Armstrong Bridge, just round the corner from where I live, in Newcastle. You can read all about it and lovely Jesmond Dene here.

And if you want to see how the dog enjoys frightening passers-by without employing any of the usual doggy means of frightening, look here. I'm used to her now, and my stomach no longer lurches when I see her do this. She's really hoping that pigeons, sitting quietly underneath, will fly up when they see a small hairy face squinting down at them.

A thought: I shall add a link under the banner picture, which I change often, and which usually depicts somewhere close to home, in which I can state what it shows or where it was taken.

Only if you really want to know, of course...

Brilliant idea including details of the banner photo. Isn't Jesmond Dene a beautiful area? Sadly, my only knowledge of Newcastle is passing by on the train, en route to Edinburgh. But you do get stunning views as you cross the Tyne.

The Dog makes up in bravery what she lacks in stature! Scary stuff! Don't you go climbing after her - you have four-legged responsibilities.

For the confused amongst you: the comment above belongs to the rather old post I linked to, with dog contemplating a terrifying drop. And where you will find comments that really belong to this post.....

I love Newcastle and visited a few times when I had friends living there.

If she suddenly slips through that gap , she'd better be wearing her lead . Then you could at least haul her back through . A bit like threading a needle .

I know you will find this hard to believe, but you have far nicer walks close-by that I do, and I live on the edge of a West Wales town!

Loved the biographies of all the characters in this addictive tale (tail?). The photo of Jesmond Bridge is beautiful and it's really interesting seeing the regular changes to your banner heading.

I love what you're doing with your banner and also the pages you've introduced. I have yet to fathom out how to do that! ps; word verification this time is 'stank'!)

Apologies, it's Armstrong Bridge, of course, must find the stronger reading glasses!

I hope Tosca is on a lead when she peers through the sides of this bridge . Then you can haul her back out of the abyss and feed her back through , a bit like threading a needle .
