Flossie's end of term

Saying goodbye. Humans with lump-in-throat feelings.

A long, rainy, traffic-jammed journey, a wet walk, a round of slightly-unnerving re-introductions (hiss! growl! Cats giving the Death Stare), then a chance to settle down with a new bed, while new owner has a cup of tea.

Someone needing a bit of reassurance and extra attention, to stop her from looking like she's chewing a wasp....

Slowly falling asleep sitting up....

Eyelids drooping....

Better lie down....

The Inspector risks a brief check on proceedings.

Dog melting like warm chocolate....

Zzzz.....

Zzzzzzzzzzzz.....

It's been a very busy day.

Congratulations! Can't wait to hear more about her first full day with tribe. I hope she and Tosca become great friends, but that will probably take some time....

She looks right at home already. Hope the cats don't give her a hard time. Mine are definitely in charge here.

That dog doesn't fit that bed! Get a bigger one at once.

It must be so hard for foster carers to say goodbye, particularly to a gorgeous, special dog like Flossie. What a lovely warm feeling to know that she is now yours. Tosca will soon adapt and probably take on a new lease of life.
Our dogs sleep in or rather out of their beds like Flossie. One of our Jack Russells used to sleep in the cat radiator bed!
Enjoy your long damp walks with your new friend.

She looks quite at home already! Oud dogs had bean bags ...... Atuart had got a bean bag for Christmas just before we got the spaniel - every time he got off it, she would get on it, so I made bean bag beds for the dogs ... a small one for the poodle a large one for the spaniel. Everytime the poodle got off hers, the spaniel would get on it and hang off the ends, so they ended up with same sized ones and would regularly swap over the course of the evening .... but they would never curl up together!

Goodbyes can be hard. But then hellos can be pretty exciting. Welcome, Flossie.

She looks lovely! and amazingly like our own Flora (well my son's but ours by association), same very shiny coat and quite narrow, elegant head. Gorgeous. Sure everyone will adjust!

Hope she is settling in ok.

Congrats on your new family member! Gorgeous thing. I always find it amusing how we humans run around providing "beds" and "toys" for animals that invariably they ignore, as they choose their own variations of same. Or at best they ignore them until it seems like the whole thing was their idea... ha!

Your dogs and cats are so lovely! Wonderful photos! It's enjoy to watch a sleeping animal...my Nero didnt' sleep under my eyes until 8 months! Till that he calmed down only when closed alone...now he is sleeping next to my bed!
Best wishes Teje and nero
