Rules of swimming
There are several of these pool-related offences that Flossie doesn't commit. She certainly wouldn't smoke, although she might dutifully try to eat a cigarette if you were to offer her one.
But No Running? No Bombing?
Give a girl a break.
Flossie's swimming technique favours Horizontal Bombing.
Red-collared friend George is more sedate; he likes to swim in circles, almost without a ripple.
He favours the Hippopotamus Stroke.
It's hard to avoid Swimming in the Diving Area with Flossie around.
She's having too much fun to try Petting. George is disappointed.
But then there's the Running.
The Pool Attendant doesn't approve.
But is largely ignored. Dry dogs have no authority.
Time for a post-swim "shivery-bite" - small chunks of cooked pork sausages today. Instant obedience to all rules!
Be glad you can't smell these two.

Yes, I am very glad. Cats are less messy, though it's possible that dogs wouldn't scratch our wallpaper. We've been moving the furniture in our son's old bedroom and there has been a lot of surreptitious shredding behind the desk. Hmm.
I rather like the smell of damp dog! It's vastly preferable to some other odours . . .
Dry dogs have no authority.
Truer words were never blogged.
What a beautiful swimming pool George and Flossie have! If I had a pool (and grounds) that looked like that, I certainly wouldn't be running as I would be taking my time enjoying the moment...but I am quite a bit older than George and Flossie. ;-)
Tosca is..... despairing of youth/thinking of your laundry bill/wondering why she isn't brave enough to do the same/thing "thank goodness somthing is tiring her out"! So am I, actually!
I don't believe there's anything more joyful than dogs in full gallop!
My goodness, you are getting a lot of fresh air and exercise, it's wearing me out.
I can smell them from here!
I miss having a dog, but I don't miss the smell of a wet dog.
Aaah, the soaking tail-swirl was my favourite post-swim treat. I taught our lab to shake on command so we'd got rid of most of the water before letting the bedding soak up the rest. Then bed into the washer, clean stuff out, and start the cycle again the next day! (We did once have to throw away a sofa that she lay on whilst wet. It never recovered and stank to high heaven)
Fabulous!! (said in the manner of Craig Revel Horwood!) Our spaniel once jumped in the river - unfortunately she was on the lead, and was momentarily left choking until I let the lead go and she fell into the water!
I'm friggin' speechless. What joy ! I can tell the tiny dry dog is lovin' her supervisory role. Those sweet, silly, life's a just big ol' fun time Labs. We are SO happy for you & the Team. "And" those location shots, the scenery, the water feature, the stepping stone bridge, the wide open spaces for which to race and run at top, top speeds. Sighing.
Not so speechless after all Lots o' Love les Gang
Everyone's having a great time, from the looks of it. Even the Pool Attendant. I'll bet the cats enjoyed having the house to themselves for a while.
That last photo makes me smile! A dog treat is a wonderful thing of power.
how about no swimming?hahah
i love dogs and the smell of a damp dog is nothing new to me!
love you blog by the way!
hugs
lila
She looks like she's having sooo much fun. Can't wait to meet her x
We LOVE your "about us". xo les Gang
Wonderful pictures - my 'action' shots never show the action because I'm too slow to click. Great to see them having so much fun.
And thanks for keeping that wet dog smell several hundred miles to the north.
I can just feel their joy in these pictures. But oh the wet dog smell, especially from natural ponds. Does Flossie get a hosing before coming back into the house? If not, I can just guess how the cats feel about her spreading that smell all over "their" territory!
What fun, what fun. Be careful eyeing that pool attendant. You lucked out this time...Whew, good thing.
I adore your blogs. This one is wonderful. You have a lovely way of perfectly describing the antics and it always makes me smile.
What a wonderful day, perfectly captured! And yes, glad there are no "scratch and sniff" blogs yet!
