You have seen this beach and headland on my blog before, in photos taken by both Tricia and me, but you haven't seen it - photographed by me, the slow getter-ready in the mornings - at 7.30 a.m.
Blue Anchor.
For the first half hour of our walk, as the sky lightened, Flossie and I - and a few birds - were the only ones there.
Just beautiful.

Early morning is such a fantastic time of day - I simply don't know why we don't all leap from our beds and rush out to cavort amongst the quiet, dewy meads...except warm beds have a magnetic hold.
Love that joyous seashore dog.
Is that Lundy in the background or am I showing my ignorance?
What's the mound in the ocean?
So lovely... makes me wish I lived near the sea. Flossie loves it, you can tell!
I love your photos but so rarely manage myself to get out of bed early. I shall count myself inspired.
Beautiful. That is Lundy isn`t it? I`m used to seeing it from further up the coast, but it used to be a familiar sight.
So lovely to be able to walk on the beach in the morning!
Happy Mothering Day Rachel!
That looks like Flossie bliss!
Wow.
Did you feel like The First Human?
I would happily leap from my bed at daybreak if I could nap later in the day.
Lucky Flossie & lovely for you it's a great way to greet the morning. wassat island off in the distance ??
Just had a lovely catch up - gorgeous beach, ah the peace! Yummy looking chocolate, and sweet beetles! And yes, foamy food, I'm very suspicious of it.
Lovely to read your news x
What a great start to the day (only to be enhanced with a couple of handmade chocs in the jacket pocket). I enjoy being an owl but I do wish I was a lark sometimes.
i won't let the lab see this post.
She's always on about why we can't go visit.
This would put her over the edge:-)

It was kind of you to take some beautiful photos for those among us who are never likely to be dressed and up-and-about that early ! The morning light is wonderful .
Blissful - out-of-season beaches are the very best.
I've never been down to Blue Anchor although I keep passing it on the way to Watchet. I must bother to make the detour next time. I'll have to borrow a dog.
