ominous

The first beans, a few miraculously slug-free potatoes, very welcome too, but five eager heralds of the courgettes? "Stop now!" I want to cry, "you are plump and pretty, but five is enough!" But courgettes just don't listen. I know they are gathering their legions out there in the damp darkness....

But no garlic because you gave it to me! It's delicious!

I love your round courgettes! Maybe we could do those next year for a change? K x

Huh!!!
My courgettes are sulking in all this Welsh rain, as is almost everything else. I heard this morning that the Met Office has revised the forecast 'down'. Maybe they looked out of the window yesterday. It was more like November!

Oh, I forgot to photograph the garlic, still drying in the shed. Several went to London with the Lovely Son, and the one I've used so far was indeed good.

These round courgettes came from a packet that promised 3 different colours - yellow, light green, and dark-striped green. Last year only yellows grew; this year it's light greens. The do roast very nicely, cut into wedges and tossed with oil and garlic, but they are still worryingly prolific! Be warned....

More sulking Welsh courgettes here too. Picked 3 midgets last night 'pour encourager les autres'so to speak.

Your vegetables look most excellent - may they continue to thrive.

Hundreds of courgettes here, and all colours as promised on the packet. Slowly turning to marrows. Must be all that rain...

Thank you for visiting!

I really look forward to hearing more about your upcoming move. It is always very intriguing to see how others manage to do something that one's own self can't quite do.

(Also enjoyed reading about Berwick, a place I still remember passing by on the train to Edinburgh from York.)

Cheers!

Having said last year that I would NOT grow courgettes or squashes, I relented. Oh, how I'm bored with them. Three do look rather nice tho' trailing and lolling over the edge of an old wheelbarrow I planted them in.
